This is Whitney. She’s my ex-roommate from when I lived in New York City. Whitney once decided to make her own pasta without a roller in our kitchen. Once she convinced me it was a good idea to carry a couch from Elizabeth St. & Broome St. to Mulberry & Broome St. and then walk up six flights to our apartment. We lived in a six-story walk-up in Little Italy and climbing those stairs with a backpack was painful. Now imagine doing it with a 300lb leather sofa.
Whitney has amazing taste when it comes to music. She turned me onto The Felice Brothers a few months back, hooked me onto Bon Iver and blew up my Bob Dylan collection. She also has the greatest job on earth.
Whitney is the site supervisor of StoryCorps. She gets to travel the country around in a decked out mobile recording studio, capturing unique accounts of American life on the way. She was recently on “Talk Of The Nation” to discuss what StoryCorps does. Listen here.

No lasting damage from the couch trek right? Am I right?
