Podcast: This Thanksgiving, I’m Thankful For…A Few More Tracks…Part Deux
4November 27, 2008 by Citizen192

I caged myself with the inclusion of only five tracks in yesterday’s podcast. I’m thankful for more than five tracks! What are you thankful for this Thanksgiving? Who are your favorite American musicians? I would have included Rage Against The Machine, but I’m terrified I’ll toss my Mac out of my window while screaming lyrics from “Know Your Enemy.” Thanks for listening and send me a turkey torta from the Valley, ok?

Wow, that pic takes me back. Reminds me of lots of things I’m thankful for like Trident Pollo, La Cupeteria, La Tienda de 24 Horas, Leonardos, Mahooooooooooooooooooou, The Eeeeerich Rober (well ok, not so much), Spanish teachers with booty for days, and most of all the flat and roomies. Oh yeah, and digital video cameras.
Really though, thankful for the interwebs and instant messaging. How amazing that we can all keep in touch with people from our past so effortlessly? For our parents you met someone randomly, they impacted your life, and faded off into obscurity. I’m thankful that for once Disneyland’s predictions of the future proved true – it is a small world afterall.
American musicians? Forever thankful for and indebted to: Bob Dylan, Jack Johnson, Kanye West (I can explain!), Miles Davis, Grant Green, Mason Jennings, Lil’ Wayne, All the classic English rock bands I always thought were American, and many more.
Mostly though I’m thankful that I can be me.
“All the classic English rock bands I always thought were American, and many more.” Right on, brotha. I went years thinking EVERY band I knew was American. Everyone sounds “American” to me when they sing in English. Ha. Or did.
I’m not sure what I’d do without daily instant messaging exchanges with people. Maybe I’d get more work done. Thanks for the comments, Tip.
Wow its been such a long time since I last heard some Al Green! “Love and Happiness” Way to rock it Al !
