Sports: Liverpool Gains On Manchester United: Albert Reira Scores Beauty.
0March 22, 2009 by Citizen192
Liverpool FC began the day only four points behind league leaders Manchester United, and after Manchester lost to Fulham yesterday 2-1 — and Chelsea dropped points to Bolton — the Reds had a chance to stride into second place leaving them only one victory away from taking The Red Devil’s spot. This game was over after the first half. Liverpool began the game carrying a remarkable scoring drive in which they’ve outscored their opponents 8-1 in two games including a walloping of Real Madrid (4-0) during Champions League play. That’s the equivalent of the Lakers blowing past their opponents 300-50 over two games…at least under my calculations. If you didn’t catch the game this morning, then you missed Albert Reira’s magnificent goal which game Liverpool a 2-0 in the first half. Steven Gerrard capped the night off with a hat-trick and Rafa Benitez didn’t even bat an eye. Who’s impressed with hat tricks these days anyway?
