Rochester, NY: My Brain Is Mush: Happy 4th.
2July 4, 2009 by Citizen192

The first thing I’d like to transmit since my last post is this: it’s exhausting to go from completely and utterly unemployed to four days of intense, but magnificent, training and then traveling a few hundred miles to commence a new job. My time spent in New York City was short-lived since I shipped off to Rochester, NY immediately to start my new gig as Mobile Facilitator.
I woke up Friday morning an hour later than I had planned. Apparently I managed to smack the snooze button precisely on my phone and silence the buzz I set to wake me before the car service picked me up. It was 5:46am the next time I opened my eyes and a missed call launched my worst fears: I’d missed the car service, hence my flight, hence stuffed my new job in the poop shoot. Let’s call that panic. The car service was patiently waiting outside and I had cautiously planned for such an event so my bags were packed, clothes were ready to slip into and my B.O. wasn’t that bad, which meant missing a rinse wouldn’t be devastating for whomever shared the 45-minutes with me on the plane. Three hours late I was in Rochester, NY. Below was one of my first views.

The first day of work was memorable. I’ve already learned one thing about my new job: people can go from dim traces of light to overwhelmingly bright in just a matter of moments. Happy 4th.

I’m so excited for you! It’ll be fun, this coming year, to live my travels vicariously through you (domestic) and Oso (international).
You should totally go to NYC next month and visit me too since we haven’t met.
