I have a problem confronting people. It only happens behind the lens. I gravitate towards graffiti, buildings, expanding cityscapes with a camera in hand because I’m confronting no one. It’s a shame because what I really want to do is say “Hey, man. I really dig your coat. Can I take a picture?” I’m more agile as an extrovert without a camera body around my neck. So tonight I shot from across the street towards La Nueva Conquista Rest. Inc on Lafayette. I waited for the skateboarder to whiz on by and he flashed a light he had in his hand at me. I think it was a gesture intended to make my photograph more interesting. Thank you, man who is fearless of the winter gusts.
