I’m going to name the numerous ways I contact my fiancee when she’s in Mexico City and I’m…everywhere. There’s facebook, gchat, skype, twitter, email, cell phone (magic jack), postcard, the occasional letter and, of course, international flights every month. If you hadn’t realized, Anna and I don’t live in the same city. And today there’s absolutely nothing that can cure the distance between us. It’s Anna’s birthday, and although we celebrated in New York City two weeks ago – and she’s been celebrating with friends on both sides of the border for the last two weeks – I want to fulfill the overwhelming urge to see her by purchasing a ridiculously overpriced ticket to Mexico City. This would then lead to me wrapping her in my arms and giving her a giant, sloppy, feliz cumpleaños kiss. Instead, I’m stuck making Mahi Mahi steaks and brown rice at home and staring at this picture. Needless to say, I’m counting down the days to living together again.
