I’ve passed through this avenue countless times and have never wanted to photograph it. It’s not such a miraculous event to state that it snowed in New York City on a January morning, but this wondrous blanket of natural change created a different environment along the same route I walk through every morning. Lowry Triangle, imprisoned by two raucous roadways and perpendicular to one of the loudest streets in the United States, was strangely and lovingly calm today. If it weren’t for the hydraulics on the MTA bus stopped out of frame, I would have imagined being somewhere outside of Mt. Baker, at least for a very brief moment.
