I leave New York City tomorrow morning at 8am. I’ll be on a flight heading towards Floridian skies and a warmer climate. It’s a drag that time passes so swiftly when one is having fun. There’s always a sudden moment when I realize I’ve just begun to acquaint myself with a type of life I could live in the city. The bagels, the graffiti, the subways and the pizza are enough to enthuse me. There are countless friends, restaurants to try and new areas to explore.
Today I took a walk with Revaz through Prospect Park in Brooklyn. We shot the shit about our plans for the year, my wedding, the swift changes we’ve experienced over the last few years and my next three trips: Florida, Los Angeles and Fresno. We spoke briefly about my bachelor party and what we needed to plan.
We walked off the beaten path from the normal trails in the park and we were surrounded by some of the week’s snow, trees and silence. We were in the heart of Brooklyn, but a buzz in the air suggested we were closer to the countryside than the city. I saw a fork in the road up ahead and thought about the decisions I’ll be making in the next few months. Where will Anna and I live? Where will we work? Where will a young couple plant their roots? The journey is by far the most fun.
