Oso moved out to DF last month just in time to see us leave. It’s natural to wonder what Mexico City would have been like with my fiancee and a really good friend living in the city. It took a visit from David to enlighten my coffee ordering. Before him, it was puro americanos. After, cortaditos from Cafe Guardatiempo – a dingy cafe with no wifi about five minutes from my place – were the norm. It’s the type of experience that will be difficult to replicate in Los Angeles.
David came out after a long flight from DC to wish us well and take the remainder of our belongings. Even after a sleep-depriving trip, he was able to muster enough energy for a proper farewell.

That is not my most masculine pose. Let me clarify that two seconds earlier I punched Alex’s fiancee in the face. (By accident, of course.) Now, Alex’s hand on my ass in the “proper farewell” photo … that doesn’t look like an accident to me.
