The rambunctious Argentine futbol legend, Diego Maradona, was reported to be undergoing treatment at a Buenos Aires hospital to curb alcoholic cravings this week. The 46 year-old World-Cup winner was admitted to a hospital after reportedly reenacting his infamous “hand of God” goal in the basement of a brothel in downtown Buenos Aires, leaving English tourists at the brothel withering in shame and torture as they had to relive one of football’s most notorious moments. I’ve got a few buddies in Los Angeles ragging on me for not “keeping fit” on my travels. My futbol-esque physique has taken a jelly-ing, so I’m looking to my beloved soccer to reinvigorate my vitality, passion driven obsession. I took a nice field trip towards Flushing Meadows in Queens yesterday, and stumbled upon some serious futbol action. The action was hardly dramatic or impressive, but it was inspiring.
