    Mexico City impressed me everyday with its galleries, open-air exhibitions, Sunday-free-for-all-Mexican-citizens policies in every museum in town. But there were gruesome reminders of mass-production crapola floating around everywhere. Most notably is Roma’s weekly flea-market-esque booths on Alvaro Obregon between Calle Jalápa and Calle Frontera. There you’ll find Beatles memorabilia, bundles of scrunchies and lots of crappy art – the kind of art purchased to decorate townhouses and condominiums for viewing (There were wonderful pieces as well, but the bigger crap stood out).
