March 1 2010 I understand the vanity involved when carving your name into a concrete wall or spray-painting the side of a building, but I’ve really never understand what carving one’s name into a tree fulfills. Would you like it if I etched my name on your dog’s forehead? Above, a tree in Temescal Gateway Park.
