    New York City is a bit misty-eyed tonight because two of the city’s coolest residents decided an opportunity to live in South Africa for five months was just to good to pass up. We’re bidding them adios tonight. Flurries have been falling consistently for the last 24 hours and it doesn’t look to be letting up. I’m going to take this track, channel it through my bones and use it to keep my soul nice and warm. Let’s brindis to world travelers and global shakers!

    I’m the exact age when Ira Glass–host of This American Life–was still a mediocre reporter (his words). I’ve probably been blogging for just as long as he was in radio and I’m still unsatisfied with the way my blog looks, feels and evolves. At least my blog fluctuates much like our generation–unstable, morphing, extending and believing everything is within reach. And Ira tells me to keep doing it, to think less and do more. That should be 2010′s motto. “Think Less And Do More!” Wash. Rinse. Repeat.

    Chinati Center Art Classes from Alejandro De La Cruz on Vimeo. Nina and I wouldn’t allow Marfa’s closed shops, boutiques and galleries to snuff out our enthusiasm for adventure. Enlightened by some wonderful interns at The Chinati Foundation, Nina and I ventured over to the center for an Origami and paper-making workshop. I kept my hands clean and out of the pulp because someone had to shoot the action.
